Father's Day

Today we celebrated Daddy - we gave him some goodies and made some food. We had so much cake and stuff left over from Susie's party that I didn't make as much as I had planned on.

Cam is such a great dad. He loves to play with the kids. Emmett is quickly learning what teasing is. One of the phrases we hear at our house the most is "silly Daddy!" Susie is a Daddy's girl. She gets so mad at him when he comes home from work if he doesn't pick her up right away. I love watching the kids interact with him.

Susie's Sunshine Party

As soon as I saw the idea for a Sunshine party, I knew I had to do it for Susie's first birthday. I call her Susie Sunshine, and she's always so cheerful and happy. This was the funnest party to plan!

Oh... fire!

She was a very dainty cake eater. She ate the face off the sun first, then took little bites. It took forever for her to really dig in.

Emmett even took a break from the water outside to eat a cupcake:

Outside, we had our picnic table on the deck, and some tents set up in the yard. We had some kiddie pools and a slip and slide. The kids had a blast!

Sick Days

Well, it always happens at the worst possible time, doesn't it? Right during the last week of school, I started to get a cough. By the next week, I could hardly function. On the work days, our hours can be a little flexible so I decided to drop the kids off and go to the doctor before I went to work. Then, we noticed that E's eye was pink. So he got to come with me and visit the doctor himself. Bronchitis and Pink Eye. Since he couldn't go to the sitter, he came to school with me. He actually played really well and I got quite a bit done those two days. He had a blast riding his big wheel around the school, playing on the smart board, and playing teacher! All that work wore him out and he fell asleep when I went to lunch with some co-workers.

Susie's 1st Birthday

Susie is 1! This year FLEW by. We love this sweet little girl so much!

Hiking - Hanging Rock

We decided to skip our usual Saturday bike ride to go back to the Lower Cascades at Hanging Rock. This time, we went prepared with swimming suits! The kids loved it, especially Susie. Her lip was quivering, but she screamed every time we tried to pull her out of the water. Unlike Memorial Day, there was hardly anybody there. Perfect!

 Miss Susie was constantly putting rocks in her mouth. This is her "I didn't do anything" look.

Miss Personality

Susie is really developing her personality. In the last few days, she has made us laugh so much. First, we had this little incident with my flower pot. She explores everything!

 And then we went to the park another night and she was giving me some attitude. She makes the best faces...

We love our Sassy Susie!

Maw Maw's Birthday

We had a great time getting together to celebrate Maw Maw's birthday! She took some time to teach Susie all about flowers.
