Spring Break Vacation 3

Easter Sunday was a nice quiet day. We went to church with Grandma and Grandpa, and then went up to see my grandparents, aunt and uncle, and cousins. He had a blast running around outside, especially with my cousin's dogs. He was really missing Nick and Gracie! He also got to go on a ride in the convertible, which he thought was pretty cool (daddy got to drive, which HE thought was pretty cool).

Spring Break Vacation 2

Saturday was all about Easter. Cam's sister was kind enough to pull the egg dying stuff back out so E could have that experience. We were cracking up, because he only wanted to use his hands, which made for a messy time. He loved it though!

After that, we had the big Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's. I think there were about 25 kids total running around, and each kid had an assigned color of egg to find. E's was green. He had a blast until he discovered that there was chocolate in the eggs. The problem was that it was a hot day and the chocolate melted, which meant that mean mommy wouldn't let him have any!

After the hunt, he enjoyed swinging like a big boy.

Then he found some of Cam's old tractors in the garage. He seriously played for about an hour in the dirt. So happy!

Spring Break Vacation 1

We went to Utah for my spring break and had a blast. We stayed SO busy. I'm glad to be home, but it's SO hard to get back in the swing of things. We did so much fun stuff that there are going to be a lot of posts, but I can't narrow down which pictures to share. So here's the first of many vacation posts...

We got all packed up and someone just had to help load up the car.

We picked up daddy at work, and had a big adventure getting to the airport. I've never been so late for a flight - we sat down and the plane pulled away from the gate 3 minutes later!!! E was fascinated. "Whoa! What's that?" is all we heard for a while.

Grandma didn't know we were coming to visit, so it was a big surprise when we showed up at the house the next morning!

After that, we headed to my favorite restaurant (Cafe Rio!) and had some yummy lunch. There must be something about that place, because E fell asleep on this trip as well (see the last trip to Utah here. )

Smart Kid

I love watching moments like this one:

First, E got a package from Aunt Jenn and Aunt Jannette. In it, there was a Mater cup. He immediately ran into the kitchen with it and got himself some water from the fridge (he can reach it now. Boo.).

After making a mess, we pushed the lock button on the water. When he realized no water was coming out, he went and got his stool out of the pantry and used it to get a closer look to try to fix the problem. He noticed immediately that when he pushed for water, the lock button beeped and flashed. So he started messing with that button. Luckily, he didn't figure out that you have to hold it for 3 seconds.

All I can say is that we are in SOOOOOO much trouble.

Boy stuff

I love watching E and Cam interact, because it's so different from how I do things. We were driving yesterday and saw a train heading the opposite way. Cam flipped around, raced to get ahead of the train, parked, and got out with E so they could wave to the Engineer and watch the whole train go by. I normally just say "Look E, there's a train," and continue on my merry way. I was glad I was there to catch it all!

Sunday Morning Music

Emmett and I rode to church early with Cam, so I had lots of time to kill practicing the organ. Normally E plays around while I'm getting things set up, but today he sat on the bench by the organ, picked up a hymnal, and started singing along while I played. It was such a sweet moment, and at first I wished someone else could witness it. But then I was glad that we were on our own, and that music is our special thing, especially on Sunday mornings with the organ. I love my sweet boy!

Baby

Our friends has their baby, Mikhael, last weekend. We went to visit them at the hospital and I observed a few things:

1. E is dangerous in a hospital room. Buttons on the bed. Couches to jump on. Machines that make noise.

2. E loves to add "m" to words. Especially names. Mikhael is now "Mimel."

3. Reality set in. That will be us with a new baby in 3 months! I do think E will be a great big brother. He was very sweet with the baby.
