Sneaky Farmer

Emmett often gets a little jealous of Susie's toys. She got a princess castle complete with all the princesses, and he loves to come and steal all the pieces so she can't play. Tonight, he brought his Little People tractor and farmer, and said "The farmer wants to play in the castle." Well, that lasted about 1 minute before the sneaky farmer loaded up all the princesses into the tractor and drove off. Silly boy still has some work to do on sharing!
Here's the farmer in the castle.

Here are the kidnapped princesses.

Pioneer Day

Every year our church celebrates Pioneer Day, a day to honor our ancestors who had to travel west to Utah for religious freedom. Cam came up with the idea to turn our wagon into a covered wagon, and it was a big hit with the toddlers. We also had a few pioneer activities, including Cam's favorite - the rope pull.

Feeding the Fish (and one duck)

Mitzi knew a fun little park where we could go feed some fish. There was also one duck, which Emmett was very worried about. "Where is the duck's family?"

Susie wanted to take a flying leap off the dock, so we had to keep a hand on her at all times. Emmett loved watching the fish.

Movie Time!

The theater here has a great deal during the summer where they show movies in the mornings for $3.50 and you get popcorn and a drink. Tracy and I took Jackson and Emmett to see Despicable Me 2. E had to wear his minion hat, and they had a great time.

A Night at the Racetrack

We found out that Bowman Gray was having Monster Trucks and Demolition Derby in addition to the normal races. We decided that Emmett might like that, and Cam was convinced that I needed to experience Bowman Gray once. Emmett was in little boy heaven. The only bad part was that it rained a bit, but not hard enough that we had to leave. We even got to see a fight between some drivers. It was worth it to see how much E loved it!

Aunt Jenn AND Aunt Nette!

Aunt Nette came back to NC for a visit, and we got one whole day with two of our favorite people! We went to the park, we went to eat, and we of course had to go get some Blue Bell! We also walked around a few statues at the Guilford Courthouse while we were over there. It was a fantastic day.

"I want to be a farm boy"

My former student invited us out to their farm again this year, and Emmett REALLY loved it. On the way home, he couldn't stop talking about it. "I really had fun at the farm, mom. I want to be a farm boy!" Hannah was so patient showing him around.

A chicken laid eggs while we were there, so he was able to get them. When Angela asked him if he liked to eat eggs, he said "NO! You can't eat these eggs. They're chicken eggs!" Oh boy.

Ice Cream

As I've said before - Susie loves eating. We decided to see how she'd do with an ice cream cone... let's just say it was in her ears, hair, nose, diaper, EVERYWHERE! But she was so happy!

Fireworks

After our fun day at the park on the 4th, we weren't up to going to any fireworks that night. So we got together with some friends the next day. A neighbor had given them some and we didn't realize how big and loud they were. It made for some good laughs (once we realized that we hadn't been busted by the cops).

4th of July

We had a FANTASTIC day with our friends, who kindly let us be a part of their big family bbq at City Lake Park. They snagged the perfect spot under some trees near the lake, and right near the playground. The kids had so much fun playing, riding the train, and riding the carousel. They didn't stop moving all day! This is one of those perfect days that I'll always remember.
Awesome playground

Helping Daddy cook the food

I never get tired of her grin

She loved the swing

Loving the train ride
"No pictures! I blocking you!"
Gotcha!
This girl loves to eat!

Buddies

They loved riding around in the wagon

Emmett actually took this picture of the train.

Sweet! Notice she had to have blankie!
Emmett took this picture - I actually liked it.
It was very hard to hold two little kids on when the horses moved in opposite directions!
One of the favorite activities was racing down the hill by our picnic table

This was our view all day.

So much fun with friends!
