Fun at the park

On Monday we went to the park with some friends from church. E was the youngest there, but he sure tried to keep up with the bigger kids. At one point I had to send some of the kids after him because he got too far in the playground equipment! He played hard for almost 2 hours!

Visit with Aunt June and Michael

We had a fun time with Aunt June and Michael when they visited from California! Michael got roped into helping me set up my classroom (hooray!) and then we went to the Natural Science Center one afternoon. We got to see a cool mummy exhibit (E was strangely fascinated in there) and they had a mini-zoo and some other cool exhibits. E's favorite was the little kid play area, where they had his favorite - SHOPPING CARTS! We had to distract him, hide it, and RUN!

Cool! A new xylophone!
Hanging out on a frog
T-Rex!
Ready for Supermarket Sweep!
This was right before we hid the cart and ran out of the kid area!
Reading with Aunt June and Michael
Cool new dino toy from today!

Hangin' With the Big Boys

I was at a friend's house for dinner, and E didn't want to sit at the big table. He wanted to be with the big boys at the little picnic table. He sat there and ate and laughed and was SO happy to be with them! He'd put his fork on someone else's plate, then they'd laugh, then he'd giggle. He'd also watch them and copy what  they did. It was the first time it really hit me how big E is getting!

Grammy's Visit

We had a fun few days with Grammy. I finally found E a shopping cart. He loves to push things around, and I knew it'd be the perfect toy for him. I found one at the local pharmacy of all places! He hasn't stopped pushing it around. He likes to grab random things and add them to the cart. I just have to watch out because he's grabbed my keys a few times!

He sure does love his Grammy. They had a blast playing and snuggling!

Wild Thing

E has REALLY been showing off with Grammy visiting. Last night was WILD. He was so tired that he was out of control. It was funny, but in a who-is-this-maniac kind of way. This was the tail end, as he was starting to run out of steam.

He's been cuddling and playing with Grammy. Love it!

Dizzy

We're all getting dizzy over here! E's new move is to spin around until he's dizzy and then fall down. So we're all practicing our spinning moves!

Happy 4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays because I love all things patriotic! Cam loves it because he gets to play with fireworks. I wasn't sure how E would react to the fireworks, but he LOVED them.

First, we stopped at the town's annual free hot dog/hamburger night. E stepped on my plate and got ketchup all over one shoe, so that's why a shoe is missing.

They also had the big bounce house and slide, and since we got there at the end of the festivities E had them to himself. Don't be fooled by the picture, he loved the slide!

We got together with friends to do fireworks. E's little girlfriend stuck close all night, and he loved it! I love this picture of them.

All through the fireworks he sat in this chair like a big boy. He loved it!

Can we say spoiled?

As always, Sam put on a great show and we had a great 4th!

Hilton Head part 4

Tuesday we woke up really early, so we watched the sunrise on the beach. E loved pushing his stroller around (of course). Then we went to a petting area at the stables on the island. The boys also took a pony ride. When we pulled up to the parking lot, E started saying "Dog, doggie!" And I realized he could see the horses. We went up to the fence and a huge Clydesdale came up and put his head over the fence and into E's lap! He was a really friendly horse, and the boys both loved him. We also got to see donkeys, goats, a pig, a tame deer, chickens, and a llama. Then we took the boys on their pony ride. They loved it!

We went to lunch at a place called the Salty Dog. It was my favorite place we ate by far! During the meal, E started to fall asleep and his head was rolling all over the place. Poor kid! We went back to the resort, loaded up, and headed back to NC. I think the boys had a great time!

Woah, big horse!
Love the sign "Please don't feed your fingers to the animals"
Going for a ride on Starbuck
At the Salty Dog
mmmm, I love hush puppies!

Hilton Head part 3

Monday morning we went kayaking. We got the 2-person kayaks, and put the boys in the bigger back section. E liked leaning over and putting his hands in the water, but after a little bit he got tired and took a nap on my legs for most of the time! He pulled his hat over his eyes to block the sun and was out! We saw dolphins and pelicans, and the weather was beautiful thanks to the thunderstorm Sunday night!

We stopped to get some ice cream after kayaking, and I saw something I haven't seen since Texas - a Blue Bell truck! But when we got inside, there were only like 3 kinds! I almost went to find the delivery guy!

That night, we went on a sunset cruise. We saw more dolphins, beautiful homes, and a beautiful sunset. I wish it had been cooler, because it's hard to hold a squirmy boy when it's really hot! The birds in the sunset picture are Ospreys.

Hilton Head part 2

Another day of beach and swimming. The pool by our building had a really neat splash area and shallow area on the pool. That night, we had our turn for date night. We ate at a place called the Crazy Crab, and ate outside overlooking the salt marshes. It was beautiful! Oh, and E calls all animals "dogs," except for kitties. So he saw the pelican statues and said "doggies!" Silly kid.

Crushing Daddy's sandcastle

He is all boy - playing with sticks in a puddle

Running around on the beach
"Get me out of here!"
Riding a sea turtle
Loving the water
The pool had some sandy areas too, where the kids can play
With some "dogs."
Date night!
