Family Night

Tonight we took the whole family - dogs included - to the park. One of the parks here in town has a walking track, so we did a few laps and then let Emmett play at the playground. I pushed Susie's stroller around, and I had fun watching her facial expressions. Cam had Emmett and the dogs, so he had fun trying to stay untangled!

Asheville Road Trip

Both kids did great with the road trip. This was a special little moment on the way home from Asheville - What happens when Emmett tries to laugh and growl at the same time...

Asheville Part 2

We stopped at the Western NC Nature Center to let the kids run around and see the animals. It was a really nice place and just the right size for our crew.
I love this picture. Trying to get more than one kid looking at the camera was a joke!

These two were very well behaved!

Roar!

This sign was by the bear area...

Apparently Cam's hands are the size of a bear paw.

The petting area. E was ok with the goats this time.

Checking out a turtle.

I told you they were inseparable. Four strollers weren't enough - M hitched a ride with E!

Asheville Part 1

My sister and her family came up to Tennessee for her husband's family reunion, and they met up with us in Asheville so we could visit for a day. We had a great time, and the kids loved hanging out. Even the babies! Here are a few fun shots.

At the McDonald's by Biltmore. Fancy Shmancy! E loved the player piano!

I love that they're posing exactly the same!

These two were thick as thieves!

The only picture of all six kids. Chaos!

Birthday Party

E's best little buddy had his birthday party - and it was a tractor/farm theme. I was excited because I had the perfect outfit for Baby S! E loved the tractors, and the highlight was a tractor hayride! E also entertained everyone by eating popcorn with a fork and stealing the tractors from the table centerpieces. Silly boy!

Swimming

I took the kids swimming with some co-workers, and I was a little nervous because E hasn't been swimming in a year. I wasn't sure how he would do, but he seemed to really like it. He went down the steps to the pool on his own, and he even jumped in to me as long as I held his hands. His favorite spot was on top of one of the floats, with all the toys around him. Emma called him "King of the Toys!" S cooperated by sleeping through almost the entire outing!

Greensboro Science Center

The Greensboro Science Center has so many fun things to see - they have a small outdoor zoo area, lots of fun exhibits, and they just built a new aquarium. E loved the animals, especially the tortoises, tigers, meerkats, penguins, sharks, sheep, and all the fish!

He loved the tunnel to check out the meerkats up close.

He kept telling the tortoise to "go in the wadoo" (water)

Howling monkeys are LOUD.

A little bubble to check out the otter tank from inside!

He would crawl along the floor in front of people and follow the fish. Silly boy.

So excited about the sting ray pool.

Petting the sting rays

I thought we'd never get him away from the shark tank. He liked the "sake" (snake = eel)

Storytime

I've been working on getting out with both kids. We've had successful trips to Maw Maw's, the grocery store, and on Tuesday we went to the library for story time. It's perfect because it's close, free, and inside! This week it was about trucks, tractors, and buses - perfect for E. S was a perfect angel and slept the whole time so I could have some E time! The librarian pulled tractor and truck books, and E chose one that he wanted (non-fiction, that's my boy!). He checked out his first library book! That made this book nerd proud!

4th of July

My favorite holiday! I love everything - the meaning behind the holiday, cookouts, and wearing red, white, & blue. We went to the annual Walkertown celebration, where my picture of E looks very similar to last year, just with a bigger boy! (see last year's pictures here. ) Then we went to our annual fireworks show with our friends. Best moment - E trying to stay awake at 11pm drinking a root beet float. I thought he was going to faceplant into his cup.

At the town cookout
Maybe S will be more impressed next year!

Finally caught her with her eyes open!
Love this picture!
Friends!
He snuggled all through the fireworks
Sparkly!

Family Week

It's Monday, which means Camron went back to work. We had a great week. Here are my favorite moments:

1. Family outings - whether we went out to eat or went to the park, or just stayed home watching a movie, it was nice to just spend time together.

2. Projects - both Cam and I worked hard on many projects, including moving furniture between rooms for E and S. It's always nice to check things off the list!

3. Big Boy Bed - we transitioned E to his twin sized bed. Considering everything that has been thrown at him lately, he's done REALLY well!

4. Funny Moments - E kept us laughing all week. Our favorite new saying is "go mow!" When Cam pesters E too much, E tells him to "go mow" to get Cam to leave him alone!

5. Adjusting - It was great to have time for the four of us to get used to being, well, four of us! S is a sweetheart, and she is doing so well.
