My Little Musician

I was working on our computer (the storm the other night fried our modem) and E was standing there playing on the piano. When I got out from behind the computer desk, he was sitting on the bench like a little pianist. I have no idea how he got up on the unstable bench without tipping it over or without me hearing him struggle. I was quite surprised. He was playing it softly, just like a real song. He was rocking back and forth dancing to his own song. And he was even turning pages. I immediately grabbed my phone, and that's when he noticed us watching him. So he kept looking at us in the video, but you can see how much fun he had. You can also tell that he's been watching me really closely when I practice!

Favorite Things

For some reason E loves three things in our pantry... olive oil, honey, and syrup. If we leave the door open, he makes a beeline for those things. He likes to stack them, pretend to pour them, and push them around in his shopping cart. If he ever gets any of them open, we're in trouble. But I am really proud that he's smart enough to pick out things that look the same.

Air Show

We went to the air show yesterday and we had a great time. The weather was perfect, and Emmett enjoyed it and was really well behaved (of course!). I've noticed lately that I'm not in enough of our pictures, so I SWEAR I made Camron take a picture. He said he took a few, but they're not there!! But I did get a few good shots.

In front of the FedEx plane, just for Cam.

Some planes.

Emmett watching the planes
I learned a lot from my history-buff husband throughout the show. This was pretty cool - the Harrier can hover! (I hope you're proud Cam, you taught me something!)
Crashed as SOON as we started rolling towards the car. What a trooper!

Laughter is the BEST medicine

Nothing beats winding down after a rough week by spending time with E and enjoying his laugh!

Weekday Blues

Since I'm back to work, we don't have much time (or energy) to do much on weekdays. So I don't take too many pictures. But luckily my friend Tina watched E today, and snapped a few good ones! Here's my favorite - love that little toothy smile! We're making some plans for this weekend, so hopefully I'll get some good shots!

Date Night

Date nights have really changed for us! Friday night at Five Guys and Costco.

New trick

Guess who likes to climb into the tub! That's why we keep bathroom doors closed!

Mr. I'll-do-it-myself

I've been told I'm stubborn. So it's only right that E is the same way. Today he wanted to show off his big boy skills. It was raining and he was nervous to go out in it, but when daddy tried to take his hand he ran out there all on his own and started splashing in puddles. Then, at the Mexican restaurant he insisted on dipping his own chips in the salsa. This was a first (a very messy first!). I'm sure my parents are reading this and laughing. This is just the beginning of many stubborn showdowns!

Growing

Today was the first day back - we took some pictures to compare the start of this school year to last year. Seriously, they have to stop growing!

End of Summer part 2

More little moments from summer... These are all from my phone, so the quality stinks. But they're still worth sharing!

Ouch! Had a bad fall on the wood floor. It was all cleared up the next morning!

Have I ever mentioned how HAPPY I am that this kid loves to read!

Thinking he's a big boy in the bench with a big boy drink!

I went to the bathroom, and came out to dog food EVERYWHERE! Notice the glowing eyes down the hall? That's Nick, he's worried that he's in trouble!

Push mower becomes riding mower!

I LOVE this picture. What a cutie!

E loves to help with EVERYTHING!

Camping chair, sippy, and animal crackers. Does it get any better?
Aunt Jenn did some somersaults with him, now he's ready for more!
This is why it's SO hard to get anything done around here!

"Mixing" the dog food. I think he likes to play with dog food!
One of my favorite pictures of the summer - BELLY BUTTON!

End of Summer part 1

This is always a hard time for me, but this year it's even harder. It's the end of summer and the start to another school year. I've packed this summer about as full as I can with fun things, and I've loved being with E. Here are some pictures of the little moments we've had:

Exploring (It's the computer room trash can, so it's only used for paper, I swear!)

Loving the new carts at the store!

A perfect little dance platform!

Swimming at Gigi's house

He went to stay at Maw Maw's for a bit and she had a fort all ready to go!

Let me out!!!
Jackson's birthday party
Another one from Jackson's birthday party. He thought it was hilarious that we were looking through the holes!

Oh, I have an audience!

Today E fell asleep for a nap and woke up to an audience - the Kelley women came for a visit! And he sure tried to keep us all entertained. We hit the stores for some tax-free shopping, went out to lunch, watched some olympics, and laughed. A lot. It was fun to spend time with them and enjoy my last Saturday before work starts (sigh!).

It's hard work to shop!
Laughing, singing, climbing, spinning, hiding, blowing raspberries - anything to entertain!
Who doesn't love an E snuggle??

Lazy 5 Ranch

We went with our friends to a place called Lazy 5 Ranch. It has tons of animals (farm animals and exotic animals) and you ride around on a wagon to see the different animals and feed them. The boys both loved it, and I really did too. A perfect way to close out summer!

Seriously - where did my baby go? He looks so grown up!!
Waiting for the wagon ride - love my pictures of Mr. Smiley and Mr. Serious!

They would stand up on the wagon and just stick their hands through to feed the animals. It was my job to bring the animals to us with handfuls of food. The boys couldn't quite figure out the feeding thing.
I love the grin on his face! So cool to see giraffes like that!
Talk about a handful - holding E and a bucket of food up!
There were so many cool animals, and the boys liked touching them all!
Happy boys!
Yep. That's my hand in a cow tongue. They're ROUGH!
The boys had better things to look at!
E made himself at home in the petting area.
E was yelling at waving his finger at the camel. Wish I knew what he was saying!
I love this picture. Typical BOY.
All worn out!
